Nintendo's big chief Shigeru Miyamoto's quote that he has "been caring for cats" has led to speculation that we could be in for a kitty treat soon. With no successor to the hugely popular Nintendogs, it makes sense for a game of this type to be produced. Miyamoto's full quote was, "Recently. I have been caring for cats. That is all."

This seems pretty innocuous, but Nintendo's President Saturo Iwata clarified the statement saying, "He just gave a big hint" which makes us believe that a feline based game could well be in the pipeline.

We're not sure how the game would work however after we enjoyed teaching our pet Rover to sit, roll over and speak. We imagine it would be a bit more difficult to make a cat do the same things, maybe we can look forwards to telling Jess to 'sit there and do nothing', or 'attack those goldfish'. Whatever the plan, it is sure to be a favourite amongst DS owners and we for one will secretly be buying it and caring for it in our lunch break.
